Fusion Specialty (Fusion) has promoted Samuel Shirley to global chief underwriting officer, mergers and acquisitions. He will also serve as managing partner for mergers and acquisitions at Fusion UK.
In his dual roles, Shirley will bring his underwriting practices and technical knowledge to Fusion’s global business.
Shirley has more than five years of underwriting experience, previously holding legal and financial roles.
He joined Fusion as a senior partner in June 2022 from Aviva.
Fusion says: “[Shirley] played a pivotal role in launching and establishing Fusion’s UK operation.”
Commenting on the promotion, David Rogers, Fusion co-founder and executive partner, says: “[Shirley’s] underwriting philosophy and knowledge complement Fusion’s ambitions and he is positioned to help grow our UK and international M&A insurance portfolio.”
