W.R. Berkley Corporation, property and casualty insurer, has appointed Jay Weber as president of Berkley Southeast Insurance Group. Weber will succeed Dennis Barger, who has been promoted to chairman of W.R. Berkley Corporation.
Weber has more than 30 years of commercial property and casualty insurance experience.
He joins the business from insurance group Chubb, where he served as business development leader for North America.
Barger has worked as president at Berkley Southeast since its establishment in 2013. As chairman, he will continue to support the Berkley Southeast team through the transition.
