Mosaic Insurance has appointed Jennifer Zhu to its board of directors, effective immediately. She is the seventh member of the board, chaired by Caroline Foulger.
Zhu has a decade of experience in the industry, and currently serves as principal of venture capital and private equity principals firm Golden Gate Capital. Her role in the financial services team covers investments in specialised markets including insurance, asset and wealth management, fintech and specialty finance.
Golden Gate Capital holds a majority stake in Mosaic through Angel Island Capital, its financial services portfolio company. Prior to joining the firm, she spent three years with Sightway Capital’s private equity investment team.
Commenting on her appointment, Zhu says: “It is a privilege to join Mosaic’s board at such an exciting time for the company. I’ve enjoyed working with Mitch [Blaser, Mosaic co-CEO] and Mark [Wheeler, Mosaic co-CEO] over the past two years and am incredibly proud of what the team has built. I look forward to working with Mosaic as it continues to grow.”
Foulger states: “Jenn has been a regular board attendee since Mosaic’s inception, and her formal appointment is a reflection of her valuable contributions over the last two years.
“Jennifer and I together now comprise 40 percent of the non-executive Board directors — which aligns well to the nearly 40-percent female employee complement at the company. Gender balance truly runs all the way through Mosaic and is one of our many strengths.”
