Provider of commercial and consumer property and casualty (re)insurance Sompo International has promoted Todd Corey to executive vice president and general counsel of global markets.
Based in Luxembourg, Corey was previously Sompo’s senior vice president and general counsel for global markets. Before that he was senior vice president, head of legal and compliance at the company.
Corey has more than 20 years’ experience in the reinsurance sector. Before Sompo, he was an associate for the insurance regulatory practice group at law firm, Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP.
He also served at Steptoe & Johnson and Howrey LLP.
Corey’s promotion follows two months on from the opening of Sompo’s Birmingham, UK office.
The office is led by Matt Cullen, vice president of retail property and Kevin Green, vice president of retail casualty.
