MetLife and AXA’s employee benefits business, MAXIS Global Benefits Network (MAXIS GBN), has appointed Lorraine Fernandes as chief legal officer and a member of the executive committee, effective 1 April 2023.
MAXIS GBN provides employee benefits risk management services to more than 250 multinational clients, covering over 3.2 million employees across more than 120 markets.
Fernandes has more than 15 years of experience in the legal field, beginning her career at Ince & Co where she was a solicitor and senior associate.
She joined MAXIS GBN as a senior legal counsel in 2018, with a focus on insurance and reinsurance. Since May 2019, Fernandes has been head of legal at the company.
Commenting on her appointment, Fernandes says: “I’m delighted to be taking on this new role and to be joining the executive committee at MAXIS. This is a great opportunity for me to build on the strong relationships I have with my colleagues, our network partners and our multinational clients around the world.”
Federico Morosi, chief technical and financial officer at the company, adds: “The legal team, under Lorraine’s leadership, plays a significant role in the smooth running of MAXIS’ business, so it’s great to have her join our executive committee.”
