AXA XL has appointed Stephen White as head of alternative risk and captives, Canada.
Based in Toronto, Ontario, White is a chartered accountant with more than 30 years of experience in captive insurance and risk solutions.
Prior to AXA XL, White was alternative risk transfer practice leader at Purves Redmond Limited.
Before that he was vice president of risk services at PLATFORM Insurance Management where he was responsible for feasibility reviews and strategic implementation of various captive, group risk, and alternative risk opportunities.
Earlier in his career, White was vice president and managing director of Marsh Management Services, Barbados from 1990 to 1997.
After a tenure with RBC and Aon Risk Solutions, White returned to Marsh to serve as senior vice president at Marsh Canada from 2005 to 2010.
He has also held other senior roles at the Zurich Insurance Company, Ernst and Young and CIBC.
