Reinsurance advisory service BMS has appointed Nick Gillett as CEO of BMS International, effective January 2023.
Gillett will report to Nick Cook, CEO of BMS group, and will be joined by Peregrine Towneley, chairman of international operations, and David Battman, managing director. The team will focus on aiding BMS’ goals of international expansion and accelerated global strategy.
Gillett will join BMS after a 20-year tenure with insurance company Aon. Gillett currently serves as chief broking officer of Aon’s global broking centre, and began his Aon career as managing director of Aon Benfield Singapore.
Commenting on Gillett’s appointment, Cook comments: “It is fantastic that Nick is joining us as CEO of BMS International. BMS is a destination for topflight senior talent and Nick fits the profile to lead our international growth in specialty retail. He is highly respected, personable, commercially astute, and has exceptional strategic vision.”
He adds: “BMS’ strategic goal is to invest and grow our international platform and continue to accelerate our global expansion. This follows our seventh acquisition within the last two years and in the last twelve months we have announced acquisitions in Australia, Mexico, and Spain with further M&A deals in the pipeline.”
