Atlas Insurance Management has appointed Pasha Maliougine as captive account manager in the firm’s client servicing team in the Cayman Islands.
In this new role, Maliougine will manage a portfolio of captive insurance clients, working with regulators across domiciles to stay up-to-date with the latest regulatory requirements.
He will also communicate with individual clients to help identify new risks and provide bespoke policy coverages with captive insurance solutions for Cayman’s domestic and international business community.
Maliougine previously served in the assurance practice of EY Cayman from February 2020, where he was responsible for auditing captive insurance companies of various sizes.
This included scheduling resources, communicating with clients and stakeholders, assisting the preparation of financial statements, developing filings knowledge of several captive jurisdictions, and reviewing audit work.
Before this, Maliougine was senior accountant at Canadian firm MNP, where he conducted compilations, reviews and audits according to several different international accounting and reporting standards.
Commenting on the new hire, vice president Beth Biega says: “We are excited to welcome a team member with captive experience having audited a variety of captives at a ‘Big Four’ audit firm. Pasha is a technically-strong chartered accountant with a passion for teaching and mentoring, and will be a great resource for Atlas.”
