Aon has appointed Mike Scott as senior vice president, based in the Cayman Islands.
In this role, Scott will be responsible for leading captive service teams and overseeing a portfolio of Class B(i) and B(iii) insurance and reinsurance companies domiciled in the Cayman Islands.
In addition, Scott will act as relationship manager for Aon’s clients to drive business development and ensure regulatory compliance with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority’s licensing process and wider regulatory requirements.
Scott joined Aon in July 2021 as vice president. Before this, he was assistant vice president at Global Captive Management. In this role, he managed a portfolio of Cayman-domiciled captive insurance companies, including producing and reviewing management accounts and statutory financial statements.
Scott was also a member of Global Captive Management’s compliance team, acting as both deputy anti-money laundering compliance officer and deputy money laundering reporting officer.
He joined Global Captive Management in August 2016 as account executive before being promoted to senior account executive in October 2017.
Other previous roles include IT audit manager at Tesco Bank, finance manager at Children in Scotland, and assurance manager at PwC.
In the latter role, Scott managed the delivery of statutory external and internal audit services to organisations in the Scottish public and voluntary sectors, and completed a fixed-term contract with the firm's Cayman Islands office where he performed external audit work for a portfolio of captive insurance companies and reinsurers.
