WTW has appointed Mike Johns as head of office for its Guernsey operation, Willis Towers Watson Management (Guernsey) Limited, effective 1 May.
Johns previously served as director of the management operation, a role he held since 2016. Before this, he was account director for almost a decade.
Having worked in the Guernsey insurance industry for over 30 years, Johns also previously held the position of chief underwriting officer at Alternative Risk Management Guernsey. He began his career in the domicile as vice president at Marsh Management Services Guernsey.
Johns is involved in several associations and committees on the island, as a past president of the Insurance Institute of Guernsey and past member of the Guernsey International Business Association’s management committee.
More recently, he is the immediate past chair of the Guernsey International Insurance Association, in which he still participates as a council member and in several market development subcommittees.
Commenting on the appointment, interim head of office Nigel Goodlad, who also served as regional managing director, Northern Europe, says: “I am very pleased to announce that the new head of office for Guernsey is Mike Johns. Mike has been a director of the management company for four years and will bring strong stewardship and captive industry expertise to the role.”
