The Cambridge Centre for Risk Studies (CCRS) at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School has appointed Julian Enoizi as executive-in-residence, effective 1 February.
The role was created by CCRS to assemble senior executives from companies across a range of industries to collate their practical experiences, unique business perspectives and outreach capabilities.
CCRS works to address complex issues of management science in risk to develop relevant solutions for companies. The centre recently launched a research consortium to protect society from future systemic risks by creating and expanding private-public market institutions to develop new risk transfer products and advisory services.
Enoizi is currently CEO of Pool Re, where he is responsible for leading the repositioning of the organisation, including the introduction of a more sophisticated underwriting proposition, purchase of the world’s largest terrorism retrocession programme, and launch of the world’s first terrorism catastrophe bond.
Before Pool Re, Enoizi was CEO of ProSight Speciality Underwriters at Lloyd’s and Argo Group International Holdings.
Michelle Tuveson, executive director and chairman of the advisory board at CCRS, comments: “Julian’s perspective as CEO of a unique organisation such as Pool Re and his in-depth knowledge of how the global insurance industry is approaching systemic risk will mean that he can provide valuable insights and advice to guide our research.”
Enoizi adds: “CCRS carries out sterling work providing frameworks for recognising, assessing and managing the impacts of systemic threats — work which has never been more vital.
“I am looking forward to engaging with them in considering how catastrophes and their impacts ripple across an increasingly connected world, and offering advice backed by 25 years in the commercial insurance world.”
