Willis Towers Watson has appointed Ed Koral as director of strategic risk consulting.
In his new role, Koral will be responsible for delivering analytics to clients’ risk management and insurance programmes, as well as improving the outcomes of these programmes.
Koral previously served as managing director at BDO, where he was responsible for expanding BDO’s insurance and risk management consulting capabilities, particularly for captives, self-insurance, insurance vendor and sourcing management.
Before that, he was specialist leader at Deloitte Consulting’s risk management consulting practice, where he administered insurance services to non-insurance organisations, including captives, alternative risk financing, and other insurance product offering strategies.
Koral also served as a board member at the Vermont Captive Insurance Association between 2011 and 2017.

This follows the recent appointment of Ben MacCarthy as head of casualty for Asia at Willis Towers Watson, based in Hong Kong and reporting to Paul Ward, head of global markets property and casualty hub, Asia.
With more than 15 years’ experience in underwriting and broking in property and casualty markets, MacCarthy previously served as head of customer and distribution management for commercial insurance at Zurich Insurance Company.
