Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) has hired Marc Wekkeli as new head of property underwriting.
Wekkeli, who will start his role on 7 June, will report directly to the head of GC&C Germany Hans-Peter Klebe.
In his new role, he will be responsible for ensuring technical excellence and profitability of the German property portfolio.
With more than 25 years of international experience in the insurance industry, Wekkeli is recognised as a highly technical leader in the market, having developed sundry underwriting experience in several property-related lines.
He joins Generali from Swiss Re where he has been for over 17 years, serving multiple roles including most recently as senior property product underwriting expert.

Wekkeli comes with a significant wealth of knowledge of the insurance industry and a vast international experience.”
In December 2020, Generali GC&C appointed Zaid Alami as head of financial lines underwriting Asia.
