Aon has hired John McElroy to join its Bermuda operations of reinsurance solutions.
McElroy will work as head of casualty and will report to Tony Fox, chairman and CEO, Bermuda, of reinsurance solutions.
Bringing 30 years of industry experience, McElroy has previously held several positions at Allied World Assurance Company, most recently as executive vice-president, global insurance.
He had also served at Gulf Insurance Company as senior vice president and head of its management liability department.
Commenting on McElroy’s appointment, Fox says: “John McElroy brings with him an impressive amount of experience in the casualty sector, and we believe this will be important in helping our clients to navigate the evolving exposures in this area.”

In November 2020, Aon named Sam Sylvester as a senior property broker in the UK and Ireland and specialty casualty team of reinsurance solutions.
