ACE Group has promoted Shankar Krishnan to the newly created role of underwriting manager for the Eurasia and Africa region, based in Dubai.
Shankar will be responsible for the performance and development of ACE’s expanding portfolio of casualty business and the team of local casualty underwriters across the region’s nine markets in the Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Russia.
He has insurance industry experience spanning both casualty and other lines. He joined ACE in May 2011 in and has since overseen the successful development of its casualty book in the Middle East and North Africa.
Mark Homan, executive vice president of global casualty at ACE Overseas General, commented: “Shankar’s extensive profit centre responsibilities and the breadth of his experience equip him strongly for this important new role.”
Susan McDonald has also been appointed to the role of regional general counsel for Eurasia and Africa. She will also be based in Dubai.
McDonald will be responsible for overseeing the legal and compliance functions of ACE’s operations in Eurasia and Africa. She will provide guidance, advice and support on all legal and compliance issues to the business.
She has legal experience in the insurance industry, spanning different regions. She joined ACE in 2010 prior to which she held a series of senior legal counsel roles for international insurers.
