RMS appoints Winsberg as senior VP

RMS, the world's leading catastrophe modelling firm, has appointed Paul Winsberg as senior vice president of software development.

Reporting to RMS chief technology officer Philippe Stephan, Winsberg and his team will lead software development for RMS one, the company’s real-time exposure and risk-management cloud platform, purpose built for the global insurance, reinsurance and insurance-linked securities industries to manage all exposure and risk in one environment.

Hemant Shah, co-founder and chief executive officer of RMS, said: “With more than two decades of experience leading software-development teams and a background steeped in mathematics and computer science, Winsberg brings deep industry understanding, exceptional vision and leadership to RMS as we deliver RMS one to the market this year.”

“Paul will help us build an enduring ecosystem of risk management capabilities to empower our customers to manage their risk with unprecedented freedom and flexibility – a cornerstone to our growth and success.”

In this new role, Winsberg will manage software engineering and quality engineering worldwide for RMS. His responsibilities include RMS one, RiskLink, Risk Browser and additional RMS products.

Working with product management, model development and cloud operations, Winsberg will focus on product quality and engineering efficiencies.

Winsberg said: “With the RMS one platform, RMS is showing what it means to lead an industry. I look forward to growing our talent team of software developers, continuing RMS’ heritage of technology disruption and working with clients to understand how technology can continue to give them the freedom and flexibility to own their own view of risk.”
