Edwards Wildman has recruited James Crabtree as a partner for its insurance and reinsurance department.
The lawyer advises on insurance and reinsurance claims and coverage disputes, often with an international element, in arbitration and litigation. He joins from Taylor Wessing and will based in London.
Crabtree's practice focuses on disputes concerning marine and energy market claims, asbestos, environmental pollution and health hazard losses, and financial institutions claims, as well as bankers' professional indemnity, property damage and business interruption claims.
He has also advised on disputes covering political risks, global insurance programmes and captive cover.
David Kendall, co-chair of Edwards Wildman’s insurance and reinsurance department, said: “[Crabtree] brings a good client following and has strong experience in a number of areas, including many specific areas where the firm has considerable strength including international claims, run-off portfolios and arbitration.”
Crabtree joins Edwards Wildman’s London team of 15 insurance and reinsurance lawyers.
It employs 70 insurance and reinsurance lawyers in total across the firm.
