Marsh appoints Thompson as global head of portfolio solutions

Marsh appoints Tracie Thompson as global head of portfolio solutions, Marsh Risk, effective immediately.

Based in New York, Thompson reports to John Donnelly, president, global placement, Marsh Risk. In the role, she leads the continued development of Marsh's regional and global proprietary portfolio solutions, with a focus on ensuring they are scalable, market-ready, and able to meet client requirements.

Thompson brings more than 28 years of global insurance industry experience, with a track record in portfolio optimisation, commercial strategy, data-led decision-making, and delivering client value. She has held senior leadership positions spanning global, regional, and market-facing roles across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

She joins from Cytora, where she served as global leader, strategic accounts, supporting global reinsurers, insurers, brokers, and managing general agents in embedding digital underwriting and portfolio optimisation capabilities. Before Cytora, Thompson held several senior leadership roles at Aon, including EMEA CEO of commercial risk solutions.

Commenting on the appointment, Donnelly says: "In today's complex risk environment, our portfolio solutions support a fast-growing number of clients in managing their insurance and risk needs more efficiently than what they would receive in the open market. Tracie has an outstanding track record of managing portfolios globally and brings a wealth of experience to Marsh."

Thompson adds: "Marsh Risk creates real value for clients by combining its market leading insurance expertise with a distinct portfolio-wide approach. By viewing their risks through this lens, organisations can improve their coverage consistency, reduce their administrative burdens, and achieve more competitive terms and pricing through tailored solutions that support growth."
