Marsala promoted at Nevada Division of Insurance

The Nevada Division of Insurance promotes Michael Marsala to insurance examiner 2, financial condition examinations and market regulation supervisor.

Marsala has been with the division since 2022, joining as an insurance examiner 1 conducting risk-focused financial analysis of domestic insurers, including risk retention groups (RRGs), in line with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Financial Analysis Handbook.

In the new hybrid role Marsala leads financial condition and market regulation examination activities, overseeing risk-focused examinations, compliance reviews and market conduct oversight, and evaluating insurer solvency, governance and financial reporting while supervising examination staff.

Before joining the division's examinations team, Marsala served as a management analyst reviewing applications from self-insured employers, self-insured groups and third-party administrators, work that included loss portfolio transfers and complex financial reviews. Marsala's earlier career was with the State of Nevada's Division of Welfare and Support Services.
