The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Academy and Lloyd’s Academy have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on talent development in the (re)insurance sectors in the region.
The agreement builds on an existing partnership between DIFC and Lloyd’s that dates back to 2019.
Planned initiatives include a series of events, educational bootcamps, and on-demand learning opportunities aimed at equipping professionals with the skills needed for the insurance industry.
DIFC continues to foster talent by providing mentorship and professional development through its academy and by supporting sector growth via organisations such as the DIFC Insurance Association.
Since its inception, DIFC Academy has delivered professional certifications and higher education programmes to over 32,000 graduates in the financial services sector.
Alya Al Zarouni, chief operating officer at DIFC Authority, comments: “This initiative enables us to further develop a burgeoning sector in DIFC, representing more than 125 companies. Together, we foster industry growth while shaping the future of finance.”
Dawn Miller, Lloyd’s chief commercial officer and CEO of Lloyd’s Americas, adds: “I look forward to our continued work in the Middle East, and helping the development of a talent pipeline into the fast-growing region.”
