Acies has launched Phoenix Specialty, a construction-focused managing general agent (MGA) with capacity support from AXA UK.
The new company is set to make its formal debut at the British Insurance Brokers’ Association conference, taking place on 15 to 16 May in Manchester.
Led by managing director Tim James, Phoenix will offer contractors all risks and contractors plant and equipment insurance, with further specialist products in the pipeline.
Previously, James served as CEO at Ensurance, a specialist construction and engineering MGA.
Prior to that, he spent 16 years in senior and board-level roles at HSB, a subsidiary of Munich Re.
The team also includes senior construction underwriter Milan Kosorin, construction underwriters Cameron Mclean, Elyse Gateson and Chantell Wilson.
James states: “Our priority is to establish a presence in the UK market before expanding our footprint internationally to meet the challenges faced by the construction industry.”
