Commercial and specialty insurer HDI Global SE has welcomed the opening of its newest representative office in Bangkok.
Following regulatory approval from the Ministry of Commerce, the office will be run by newly appointed marketing director Somchai Trongwisalpattana, who will report to Graham Silton, managing director of HDI Global Singapore.
Trongwisalpattana brings nearly 40 years of insurance industry experience to the role, including in commercial and industrial insurance.
HDI Global SE aims to continue its growth across the ASEAN region and is keen to support large and corporate accounts with underwriting, risk engineering and claims.
Commenting on the announcement, Silton says: “The opening of our office in Bangkok shows our commitment and growth ambitions for Thailand and the wider region to serve our clients and business partners locally.
“Somchai is highly respected and well connected in the industry and I am very confident he will actively promote and showcase our capabilities to the market.”
Trongwisalpattana adds: “I believe that the new office will bring value and benefit to our clients and brokers in the form of fast decision-making processes of a global player who acts locally close to its clients’ business.”
