Guy Carpenter & Company has launched its Asia Pacific Catastrophe Advisory Group and has appointed Jeremy Waite to lead the new operation.
The Asia Pacific Catastrophe Advisory Group will offer clients direct access to Guy Carpenter’s extensive catastrophe expertise and capabilities, including in-house analytics experts, scientific partners, and public-sector specialists.
While working with companies across the Asia Pacific region, the team will develop innovative solutions and provide access to new sources of capital to manage these exposures, as well as help to address the growing impact of climate change.
Waite will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the Catastrophe Advisory Group. He will also maintain his current role leading the property treaty broking team at Guy Carpenter for Australia and New Zealand.
He joined Guy Carpenter in 2015 and has more than 25 years of experience in the (re)insurance sector spanning underwriting, actuarial and broking roles across all classes and catastrophe modelling in the UK and Australia.
Tony Gallagher, CEO of Asia Pacific, Guy Carpenter, says: “In responding to the escalating risks stemming from climate change and the increasing demands of both regulators and stakeholders, our new Asia Pacific Catastrophe Advisory Group will provide the depth and breadth of expertise needed to help clients become more resilient against the changing nature of risks.”
In March, Guy Carpenter launched its Capital Advisory Group in Asia Pacific and appointed Michael Owen and Hussain Ahmad to lead the new operation.
