Arthur J Gallagher & Co has acquired Chicago-based captive consultant Captive Insurance Company Design and Operations.
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Formed in 2002 by Clarity Group, Captive Insurance Company Design and Operations is a captive consultant with participants across the US, which focuses exclusively on medical and professional liability.
Its captive participants are principally healthcare providers, such as medical facilities, physicians, and senior care organisations.
Andrew Becker and his associates will move to Gallagher’s office in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and will report to Patrick Gallagher, head of Gallagher's Midwest retail property/casualty brokerage operations.
J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr, chairman, president, and CEO of Gallagher, said he was “very pleased” to welcome the new staff to the company.

On Monday, Gallagher were named as part of a group of defendants in a class action suit which alleges a massive captive insurance strategy conspiracy.
