Collaboration between captive associations can be a powerful tool to fight threats to the industry, according to panellists at the European Captive Forum.
Panellists Udo Kappes, Guenter Droese, Dennis Harwick and Peter Hagnauer, representing the ECIROA, CICA and SIRCA, respectively, pinpointed the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) base erosion and profit sharing (BEPS) initiative as an example of where they can achieve more by working together.
The benefits of such an approach include being able to pool resources, according to Kappes.
He said: “We have already started the approach and we are trying to extend the relationship with other associations such as FERMA, which also expressed their concern on the BEPS topic.”
