CICA opens call for presentations for 2027 International Conference

The Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) invites members and non-members to submit proposals for education sessions at its 2027 International Conference.

The conference runs from 7-9 March 2027 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Arizona. The submission deadline is 6pm Eastern Time on Friday 7 August 2026, with CICA noting that late proposals may not be considered.

CICA describes its domicile-neutral conference as a venue for risk professionals to share experiences, best practices and strategies at a time of rapid transformation, emerging threats and global challenges. It welcomes submissions across a broad range of topics, including success stories from captive owners, strategies for employee benefits and medical stop loss, the use of AI in captives, and fronting and reinsurance.

Successful sessions must include a confirmed risk manager or captive owner whose primary job function is operating or managing a captive on a daily basis. CICA specifies this individual must be a direct employee of the captive's parent or affiliated company, and that the category is not open to captive managers or service providers whose company has a captive.

CICA requires speakers from different companies for each session, and a moderator counts as a speaker. Sessions featuring more than one speaker from the same company will not be considered.

The association accepts a maximum of five submissions per company and limits each company to three speakers across the conference, with each speaker permitted to appear on a single session only.

The association says diverse presenters and perspectives are more likely to be considered, including speakers who align with its Amplify Women and NEXTGen initiatives. It stresses that its programmes are not an opportunity to pitch a product or service provider, and that incomplete sessions or those not adhering to the guidelines will not be accepted.

Sessions run across three levels: 101 for beginner and all audiences, 201 for intermediate, and 301 for advanced. Each lasts 50 minutes, including introductions and Q&A.

Proposals can be submitted via CICA's online form. Questions can be directed to Lauren Thomas at lthomas@cicaworld.com.
