Pinnacle expands captive actuarial reach in Bermuda and Canada

Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, Inc. acquires Bermuda-based Ordinance Holdings Limited and the renewal rights for clients of Canadian firm Grape Bay Actuarial Consulting Inc., effective 30 June 2026.

Ordinance, based in Hamilton, Bermuda, provides actuarial consulting services to insurance, reinsurance, captive insurance and segregated accounts companies. Grape Bay is an actuarial consulting firm serving insurance, reinsurance and captive insurance companies, professional associations and other businesses in Canada.

Julie Perron, president of both Ordinance and Grape Bay, joins Pinnacle as an independent contractor following the transaction. She continues to serve former Ordinance and Grape Bay clients and remains based in Canada. Grape Bay clients move under Pinnacle Actuarial Resources of Canada, the firm's recently formed subsidiary established to coordinate its strategy in that market.

Roosevelt Mosley, managing principal at Pinnacle, says: "Pinnacle is pleased to announce this key strategic acquisition, and we look forward to working with Julie."

He adds: "This acquisition of Ordinance and clients of Grape Bay will increase Pinnacle's international presence and enhance the services we provide our clients in Bermuda and Canada. It will also expand and deepen the expertise, market knowledge, capabilities and scale of service for clients of Ordinance and Grape Bay."

Perron brings more than 25 years of experience as an actuary, with expertise in captive insurance, loss reserving, pricing and structuring of reinsurance programmes. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA), a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).

Mosley says: "Julie will bring a wealth of international knowledge and experience to our firm. We're looking forward to bringing her expertise, knowledge and skills to bear on behalf of our clients in all markets we serve."

Pinnacle already holds a substantial presence in the Bermuda insurance market, including a leading position as an actuarial advisor to numerous captive insurance companies in the domicile.

Robert Walling, Pinnacle principal and consulting actuary and a leader for the firm in the Bermuda market, says: "The global property and casualty insurance industry continues to grow, and this acquisition will strengthen Pinnacle's position for captive insurance, traditional insurance and reinsurance in two key regions."

He adds: "It is an exciting acquisition that increases our firm's international footprint and positions Pinnacle to continue to deliver best-in-class consulting services and actuarial expertise throughout Bermuda and Canada."

Pinnacle is an independent, full-service actuarial firm focused on the property and casualty insurance industry. Headquartered in Bloomington, Illinois, the firm also has offices in Atlanta, Chicago and San Francisco. It is owned by its professional staff and ranks among the largest independent property and casualty actuarial firms in the US.
