The Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) has named Hyatt as the winner of the 2026 Outstanding Captive Award during its International Conference in Palm Desert, California.
The accolade recognises captive insurance companies or risk retention groups that demonstrate creative utilisation, successful results and a positive reputation among rating agencies, regulators and colleagues in the captive industry.
Since establishing its captive in 2013, the global hospitality company has used the vehicle as a strategic tool to provide best-in-class insurance solutions for its portfolio of more than 1,500 properties across 83 countries.
Initially formed to cover property and liability risks, Hyatt has since broadened the captive’s scope to include employee benefits programmes. The company also partners with external experts for independent evaluations to ensure the captive maintains industry-leading standards and keeps pace with the organisation's evolving needs.
Jennifer Pack, vice president of global risk management at Hyatt, says: “Hyatt’s Global Risk Management team brings deep technical expertise, but more importantly, they bring a growth mindset and a cross-functional approach to collaboration. This award reflects their commitment to thinking boldly and operating strategically every single day.”
