Aviva has partnered with specialty MGA Nirvana to underwrite cyber risk across the European Economic Area under a multi-year agreement.
The firm says the move will give Aviva access to new markets in Europe where it does not house operations, fitting with its broader strategy for expansion.
Andrea García-Beltrán, partner and head of Cyber Media and Tech Europe at Nirvana, will lead underwriting for the new binder from the company's Barcelona office.
Stephen Ridley, head of cyber at Aviva, states: “We look forward to building our partnership over the coming years as part of our wider strategy of working with a select number of specialist partners to diversify our portfolio beyond the markets in which we have direct presence.”
García-Beltrán adds: “We are delighted to be launching our new European cyber product with Aviva at this critical time in the market. Client awareness of cyber risks is growing, and we hope to deliver a market-leading product via our valued broking partners, with backing from one of the most respected insurers.”
