VCIA opens registration for 38th annual conference

The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) is to open registration this week for its 39th annual conference. The conference will take place from 7 August to 20 August at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Burlington, Vermont.

Established in 1985, the VCIA provides lobbying support for its nearly 400 members and offers captive education and opportunities for information-sharing. Its annual conference, which takes place in August, attracts industry professionals and boosts tourism in the area.

Captives and associates can go to vcia.com to register and ensure their attendance. The conference is America’s biggest captive event, where attendees can expect to participate in networking, education sessions and business opportunities.

Following last year’s 96 per cent approval rating, the VCIA expects to host 1000 captive professionals and intends to achieve similar satisfaction rates.

Core aspects to the 2023 VCIA annual conference will include 32 educational sessions, access to industry leaders and the Vermont regulatory team, and a Monday Captive Immersion.

In addition, there will be two keynote speakers — Juliette Kayyem, CNN national security analyst, and Jeff Kreisler, head of behavioral science at JP Morgan.

Conference chair Aaron Hillebrandt, Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, comments: “This August the VCIA Conference becomes the hub of the entire captive industry’s activity because of the collaborative space it provides, the thought leaders who gather, and the excellent educational and business opportunities available to attendees.”

VCIA president Kevin Mead adds: "#VCIA2023 brings the absolute best to the captive industry. It will celebrate where the captive industry is, address its challenges and gameplan for a thriving future for every stakeholder involved. If you’re engaged in the industry at all, coming to the VCIA Conference is a must.”
