Wayne Ashley promoted at Chubb Tempest Re

Property and casualty insurance company Chubb Tempest Re has appointed Wayne Ashley as division president of Chubb Tempest Re International, effective 1 April, subject to regulatory approval. He replaces Stephen Roberts.

In the role, Ashley will be responsible for the management and development of the division’s international property and casualty reinsurance business. He will report to Jim Wixtead, senior vice president of Chubb Group and president of Chubb Tempest Re.

Wayne has more than 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry, and currently serves as deputy head of the international property-casualty reinsurance business, based in London. He worked at the company’s Bermuda division between 2006 and 2012, most recently as senior vice president.

Before joining the Chubb group, Wayne was an underwriter for the International treaty portfolio at insurance company Alea Risk.

Commenting on the appointment, Wixtead says: "Wayne is a seasoned reinsurance executive who has had leadership roles at Chubb Tempest Re for more than 15 years. He is well positioned to lead as division president.

"I look forward to working with Wayne as we continue to serve our clients in this important international business."
