Bahamas captive industry event set to take place in February

The Insurance Commission of The Bahamas and the Bahamas Financial Services Board are to host the briefing session: ‘Captive industry in the Bahamas’ in the New Year.

The briefing session will be held at the Margaritaville Resort in Nassau on the 5-6 February and offers an opportunity to learn more about how the Bahamas captive market is developing.

The agenda will include a regulatory overview and cover topics such as insurance legislation, captive insurance regulatory framework, licensing requirements, reporting obligations and fiscal implications.

There will be Q&A opportunities throughout the session and a panel discussion on the second day discussing the ‘Bahamas value proposition as a captive domicile’. The minister of economic affairs will give closing remarks and the event will close with a cocktail reception.
