Talisman lets small businesses off the leash with cell captive programme

Talisman Casualty Insurance Company has launched a cell captive insurance programme to help companies manage risks related to the pet industry.

The Pet Professionals Program offers flexible and affordable coverage for small businesses, such as dog walkers, pet sitters, trainers and groomers, that is not available in standard business owner policies.

The coverage utilises general liability protected cells to mitigate pet-specific business risks, so that each insured party’s assets cannot pay liabilities in another account without a pre-existing agreement.

In addition, claims are filed within single cells, essentially operating as separate business units to minimise risk.

The protected cells will also provide small pet business owners with access to international reinsurance markets, and can negotiate based on business experience.

The Pet Professionals Program is designed to evolve with the expansion of the pet economy and adapt coverage where appropriate.

As a segregated cell insurer specialising in protected cell captive coverage, Talisman Casualty also has a range of general liability protected cell programmes for the marine industry, covering maritime employers liability, hull insurance, protection and indemnity, and comprehensive general liability.
