Independent insurance company manager Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS) has appointed Peter Child as CEO of SRS Europe, a promotion which has been effective since 1 January.
In his new role, Child is responsible for continuing the growth of SRS’ European presence, particularly in Luxembourg, Dublin, Malta, Guernsey, Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands, as well as expanding into new territories.
In addition, Child will remain in his role as managing director of SRS Guernsey Management, which was formed in February 2021 to consolidate the firm’s European presence by providing management and consulting services to a range of insurance entities, including single-parent captives, commercial insurers and reinsurers, and insurance-linked securities segments.
Before this, Child held the positions of head of European operations and managing director, Guernsey at Artex Risk Solutions.
Commenting on the appointment, Brady Young, group CEO of SRS and chairman of SRS Europe, says: “SRS’ growth has continued to grow globally with the most significant expansion in Europe in recent years. As such and given our five-year growth plan in Europe, it makes sense to appoint a strong leader in the region to work closely with our European executive team and staff to manage the next phase of our expansion.”
