Guy Carpenter & Company has promoted Christophe Gaudron as CEO of its France business, starting 1 January 2022.

In his new role, Gaudron will be responsible for overseeing the broking activities of Guy Carpenter across the French marketplace.

Based in Paris, he will report to Massimo Reina, CEO of Europe, Guy Carpenter.

Gaudron brings more than 20 years of reinsurance experience to the role and an extensive knowledge of the French market.

He joined Guy Carpenter in 2010 and was appointed deputy CEO of Guy Carpenter France in 2014. Prior to this, he held various managerial positions at Aon Benfield.

Gaudron will replace Phillippe Renault, currently CEO of Guy Carpenter France, who will continue in his role as chairman for Guy Carpenter Europe.

In addition, Michel den Boer has been hired as managing director, treaty broking, Guy Carpenter Benelux.

Based in Rotterdam, den Boer's new role takes immediate effect.

He will work primarily within the Dutch market and will report to Patrick Schepens, CEO of Guy Carpenter Benelux.

The role as managing director forms part of Guy Carpenter’s ongoing expansion strategy for the Benelux region.

den Boer will be responsible for reinforcing the company’s market presence and amplifying its focus on providing market-leading risk transfer capabilities to its clients.

With more than 30 years of experience of Dutch reinsurance market knowledge, den Boer joins from Willis Re, where he was an executive director and treaty broker within the firm’s continental Europe division, focusing on the Netherlands.

Reina says: “This transition demonstrates the depth of talent we have at Guy Carpenter. Christophe Gaudron has an excellent track record of delivering value and results to our clients and has contributed greatly to our growth in the region.”

Commenting on den Boer's new role, Schepens notes: “den Boer is a highly respected market practitioner in the Dutch and international markets. Throughout his career, he has excelled in achieving strong growth through delivering client-focused solutions.”

Earlier this month, Guy Carpenter hired Anthony Cordonnier as managing director and global co-head of cyber, while Erica Davis has been promoted to global co-head of cyber.
