Marsh promotes Ankur Kacker as UK digital asset leader

Ankur Kacker has been promoted to UK digital asset leader in the financial and professional (FINPRO) practice within Marsh JLT Specialty.

Based in London, Kacker will report to Philip Turner, specie practice leader.

Kacker previously worked as senior vice president specie and digital assets at Marsh.

In his new role, he is responsible for the development of new insurance solutions for digital assets such as cryptocurrency.

In addition, Kacker will continue to work closely with the business’s New York-based digital asset risk transfer (DART) team, which offers risk transfer solutions to firms operating in the areas of blockchain, cryptocurrency, and digital assets

He joined Marsh in Mumbai, India as a graduate in 2008 and moved to London in 2017 as part of the UK specie practice, where he specialised in digital assets insurance.

Over his 13 year career, Kacker has worked with clients across a wide range of industries including financial institutions and technology organisations.

Commenting on Kacker’s promotion, Turner says: “Ankur Kacker has been the driving force behind many innovations in the highly specialist digital assets insurance market.”

He continues: “Our clients will benefit significantly from Kacker’s knowledge as we continue to develop services and solutions that provide firms with the protection they require, as they increasingly take advantage of the opportunities associated with digital assets.”

Kacker notes: “As greater clarity around regulatory issues continues to emerge, organisations across the business spectrum – from large financial institutions to technology providers – are making significant investments to capitalise on opportunities using blockchain technology and digital assets.”

“I look forward to working with our London team and colleagues in New York, and playing a critical role in providing the risk transfer solutions that contribute to our clients’ success,” he concludes.
