The insurance commissioners from Washington State, North Carolina and Delaware have all won re-election in the 2020 US election.

Mike Kreidler, insurance commissioner for the State of Washington and a democrat has won his second term. According to data from the New York Times, he won 67 percent of the vote against his republican rival, Chirayu Avinash Patel.

Mike Causey, insurance commissioner for North Carolina and a republican has also won his second term. Causey won 52 percent of the vote against his democrat rival, Wayne Goodwin.

In addition, Trinidad Navarro, insurance commissioner for Delaware and a democrat has won his second term. He won with 60 percent of the vote against his republican rival, Julia Pillsbury.

During his first-term, commissioner Kreidler was critical of captive insurance operating within the State of Washington. He made captive insurance a legislative priority for 2020, in which he spoke to Captive Insurance Times about legislation and his opinions on captive insurance.

It has also been revealed that captive insurance companies remain a priority after they were listed on the Washington Office of the Insurance Commissioner 2021 legislative agenda.
