Erin Brosnihan takes on president role at Kensington Management Group

Kensington Management Group has appointed Erin Brosnihan as president of the full-service management firms.

Brosnihan will replace Michael Gibbs, who will retire at the end of 2020.

With 21 years of experience as a chartered accountant, she previously spent 19 years working with captives at Kensington.

In 1999, Brosnihan joined Ernst & Young (EY) in Edmonton where she obtained her chartered accountant designation. She then relocated to Grand Cayman to work with PwC before joining Kensington in 2001.

She currently serves as executive vice president of Kensington with responsibility for client services and professional staff training and development, in addition to being integral to the firm’s quality and procedural enhancements.

A past chairperson of the Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC), she now represents Kensington on IMAC’s executive committee.

Gibbs has almost 40 years of experience in the offshore financial industry. He is also a past chairperson of IMAC and served on its executive committee for 12 years.

Gibbs will begin his term as president of the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce in 2021.

Commenting on Brosnihan’s promotion, Gibbs stated: “Erin Brosnihan and the whole Kensington team are more than ready for this new challenge, and the transition will be seamless thanks to Brosnihan’s 19-year tenure with the firm and exceptional experience in the captive space.”

“I am exceedingly proud of each member of the Kensington team. It has been an honour and a privilege to work alongside each of them and I look forward to following their successes, both individual and collective, in the years to come,” he concluded.
