Fleming Re names new chief actuarial officer

Fleming Reinsurance (Fleming Re) has appointed Jim McNichols as the new chief actuarial officer.

McNichols has over 30 years of experience in property and casualty actuarial and enterprise risk management. He previously worked as a chief actuary at XL Capital and Greenlight Re.

Commenting on his new role, McNichols said: “What attracted me to Fleming is the sound business model, structural flexibility in design and implementation of bespoke risk solutions.”

“Fleming Re has developed innovative approaches well suited to the current run-off insurance markets. I am excited to join this dynamic team to enable continued growth and success,” he adds.

Fleming Re CEO, Eric Haller, stated: “We are extremely happy that we were able to recruit someone of McNichols’s calibre to fill our chief actuarial officer role. I believe it is a testament to Fleming Re’s early success and our overall strategic outlook to be able to recruit such top industry talent.”
