Gossmann & Cie has appointed Joanna Aquilina and Patrick Riecken to the management team of its new risk carrier that is currently being set up in Malta.
Aquilina has been named executive director while Riecken will lead the transaction department as head of underwriting.
Prior to the new role, Aquilina served as CEO and was a member of the investment committee of the Maltese protected cell company of DARAG Group.
She also worked as a director of Aon insurance managers in Malta and as part of the leadership team of Aon captive insurance managers for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Riecken most recently worked for Delvag Re, where he was head of the department responsible for Lufthansa reinsurance.
He has previously worked for Gothaer Re and has extensive experience in the assessment of insurance portfolios.
