NAIC president to make first CICA appearance

The president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Julie Mix McPeak, will be attending the CICA 2018 International Conference for the first time.

The 2018 conference will see over 500 delegates gathering in Scottsdale, Arizona, between 11 and 13 March.

President Mix McPeak will attend on 12 March and is due to provide some brief remarks at the opening session and meet privately with US and international regulators.

Dan Towle, CICA president, said the association was excited to welcome Mix McPeak to the conference and that her participation is a compliment to how far the captive industry has come.

He added: "Her participation is a wonderful development for the captive insurance industry and we look forward to welcoming her.”

"This year's conference focuses on addressing the challenges of change, which starts with sharing great ideas.”

Mix McPeak commented: "As the president of the NAIC and commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance, I want captive insurance regulators and industry representatives to understand that regulators are increasingly aware of the role captive insurance plays in the global insurance marketplace."
