Captives on the agenda for NAIC meeting

Captives and risk retention groups are on the agenda for this year’s summer National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) meeting.

According to agenda, the Financial Regulation Standards and Accreditation Committee will “consider the adoption of a referral from the risk retention group task force regarding captive reference in analysis guidelines”.

The second captive insurance item on the agenda is an update on the review related to the “Part A Preamble for Certain Captives and Special Purpose Vehicles”. The meeting will be conducted by the NAIC’s senior manager for solvency regulation Julie Garber.

The meeting will be held in San Diego, California from 26-29 August.
