DARAG appoints new chief clients officer

Run-off specialist DARAG has appointed Eleni Iacovides as chief client officer, effective 1 January 2016.

Iacovides joins from law firm Goldberg Segalla, where she has been partner since the London office opened in 2012. She has represented clients in reinsurance disputes involving both London market entities as well as international companies in London, Europe and the US.

Arndt Gossmann, CEO of DARAG, commented: “Iacovides is a perfect fit for DARAG, having successfully worked with her in complex transactions for the last five years. She contributes both, technical ability in developing run-off solutions for our clients and a broad network across Europe.”

In her new role, she will also maintain an of counsel position at Goldberg Segalla.

In addition, Ivar Sperling, who was appointed on 1 December, has taken on responsibilities as country manager for the Nordics. He has 25 years of experience in Danish and international insurance and reinsurance business.

Sperling previously served as director of Kube Partners Nordic, where he led teams both nationally and internationally.

Gossmann added: “In 2016, we seek to strengthen and broaden our position in Europe. By number of transactions, we are probably the most visible run-off company in continental Europe.”
