Ian Stafrace has been elected president of the Malta Association of Risk Management (MARM).
MARM held its annual general meeting on 30 June, in which the new board was elected for the next two years.
The outgoing president Simon Grima was elected to the new role of education and certification affairs. Dominic Fisher takes on the role of vice president while Sharon Tortell and Andrea Farrugia retain the treasurer and secretary roles, respectively.
Ingrid Azzopardi will be the new public relations office, Mark Zammit is responsible for membership and sponsorships and Robert Cachia is events co-ordinator.
Stafrace said MARM will continue to raise the profile of risk management in Malta through events in collaboration with other professional associations and with increased member engagement and networking opportunities for all those interested to learn more on how to better manage uncertainties, threats and opportunities.
He said: “We want to help risk students and risk managers build their skill-set and prepare them for future risk leadership roles.”
“The new board is privileged that during its term Malta will host, for the first time, the Federation of European Risk Management Associations’s biennial risk management seminar in October 2016. This will be an exciting opportunity with hundreds of risk management experts coming from all across Europe.”
