Scott Kipper resigns as commissioner

Scott Kipper has resigned as commissioner of the Nevada Division of Insurance, effective 2 July.

Kipper was reappointed to the role in October 2011 after serving as Nevada’s insurance commissioner from December 2008 to June 2010. During his tenure, he successfully implemented the Affordable Care Act (ACA), making sure that exceptional health insurance products were available at fair rates.

Prior to serving as Nevada’s commissioner, Kipper was deputy commissioner in charge of the office of health insurance for the Louisiana Department of Insurance, and CEO of the State of Louisiana Office of Group Benefits.

Kipper commented: “It has been an honour to have served the State of Nevada as commissioner. I am proud of the division’s accomplishments.”
