ACE appoints O’Halloran

ACE Group has appointed Glenn O’Halloran as environmental risk underwriter as it continues to invest in building its environmental liability insurance capabilities in the UK and Ireland. The appointment takes place with immediate effect.

O’Halloran will be responsible for growing ACE’s environmental liability book, working with brokers in the region to develop environmental liability programmes.

He will be based in London and report to Emma Bartolo, UK and Ireland environmental risk manager.

O’Halloran joins from ACE in Sydney where, for the past two years, he was environmental risk underwriter for the Australia and New Zealand market.

Prior to that, O’Halloran was an environmental consultant with specialised hydro-geochemistry consulting company Ecoengineers, and previously worked on major mining and water-related construction projects across Australia at Tyco-Water Infrastructure Group in Australia.

Bartolo commented: “As the environmental liability market continues to grow and develop, [O’Halloran’s] strong technical credentials underpin our continued commitment to offering our brokers and clients technical expertise and value added capabilities in this evolving sector.”

O’Halloran replaces Rob Wade, who is now associate vice president of environmental risk with ACE in Canada.
