Institute and Faculty of Actuaries appoints familiar face

Fiona Morrison has been appointed president-elect at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).

The role will commence in June 2014, but Morrison will become president in June 2015, taking over from current president-elect Nick Salter.

Morrison is a partner at law firm Lane Clark & Peacock. Her work focuses on pensions and she is chair for the professional committee.

Morrison has commented on the appointment: "I feel honoured and I look forward to working with our members across the globe to ensure that we meet their professional needs, and maintain our reputation as a high quality, public interest professional body.”

“As an active volunteer at the IFoA I am delighted that she will help lead the organisation, building on the solid foundations that have been laid before her." Commented David Hare, who is the current president.

CEO Derek Cribb said: “I am delighted that Morrison has been selected and I look forward to continuing to build a strong and effective partnership between the executive and Fiona that draws on her experience to help deliver our strategy."
