Marsh shows its charitable side

To mark the 40th anniversary of its captive management operations on Guernsey, Marsh has launched its ‘Guernsey 40:40’ programme, which will see staff undertake 40 activities in support of local charities and community groups during 2014.

Marsh, which employs 16 people in its captive management team in St Peter Port, established its operations in Guernsey in 1974.

David Riley, head of office for Marsh in Guernsey, commented: “From a small start-up that supported the fledgling captive insurance industry on Guernsey, Marsh is proud to have grown and become an integral part of the island’s business community.”

“The 40:40 programme is an excellent way of celebrating our 40th anniversary, while giving something back to the communities in which we live and work. Over the course of the year, our colleagues will put forward their ideas and undertake a number of challenges, giving their time to support good causes and raise funds.”

Riley raised funds by undertaking the Sport Relief Mile challenge on 22 March and the office raised funds for the Rotary Club of Guernsey Purple Pinkie Day. Other planned activities include colleagues taking part in organised events such as The Race for Life, Rock to Rocque Bike Ride, World Aid Walk and Saffrey Champness Rotary Walk.
