Daniel Keough in Holmes Murphy move

Daniel Keough has been appointed chairman and CEO of Holmes Murphy & Associates.

Holmes Murphy is the 26th largest independent risk management and insurance brokerage firm in the US.

The move follows the appointment of the previous chairman, Jim Swift, as director of development opportunities as part of the organization's planned leadership perpetuation strategy.

Swift said: "Since joining our firm in 1999 Dan has been successful leading each division he has been responsible for. I feel confident that Dan and his management team are well positioned to transition the next generation of Holmes Murphy."

As chairman and CEO, Keough oversees Holmes Murphy's regional divisions, develops division and department revenue objectives, and oversees affiliated companies, captive strategies and creative risk solutions.

Keough served as founder and CEO of Innovative Captive Strategies before being named CEO of Homes Murphy in 2012. He is a member of several boards of directors, including Kum & Go, L.C. Advisory Board, Bankers Trust Community Board, United Way of Central Iowa, and Dowling Catholic High School Foundation.
