Michael Mead is new editor of Captive Insurance Company Reports

Michael Mead has been appointed as new editor of Captive Insurance Company Reports (CICR), effective from its February 2013 issue.

Mead is past chairman and director of the Captive Insurance Companies Association, past president and director of the Arizona Captive Insurance Association, and a founding director of the Surplus Line Association of Illinois.

In addition, he has been an IRMI.com commentator contributing to its captive column for over a decade.

“No longer are captives merely a means to ride out a hard market,” said president and CEO of IRMI Jack Gibson. “Now, they are critical risk management and funding vehicles for many firms. With his experience and many contacts in the industry, we know Mead is the right man to take the helm of CICR at such an exciting time for captives."

"Captives are not just for captive practitioners," added Mead. "In today’s evolving world of risk and alternative finance, many sophisticated businesspeople are finding new ways to use captives.”
